I have never written any bios of myself and I cannot give an accurate discography of every recording that I have participated in. The following are most of the bios and reviews that are out there on the internet. I currently teach privately and run a monthly drum and percussion workshop at the Somerset Hills YMCA in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Since 2003, I have recorded and performed with No Use For Humans which started out as a solo project but evolved into what it is now with the help of the talented Sean Wegeler. Currently, the line up of NUFH is Sean Wegeler, Matt McCormack and myself. Past members and special guests that have performed and recorded with NUFH are: Alicia Testa, METAL Mike Biskup, ADEO, Mike Noordzy, Anthony Ware, JJ Samatarro, Sean Calvert, Adam Vaccerelli, and Mad Myke Rivera. In addition to No Use For Humans, I currently perform and record with Evil Dub, The Lifeguards, Soul Amputation (solo project) and Universal Rebel. In addition, I have had the extreme pleasure of sharing the stage with Moth Guts, The Sketchy Testates, and Herb Robertson. I was a member of In Petto, The Hungry Housewives and Pigs In Space a long time ago. I know I’m leaving some people out.

Stevez
Steve Honoshowsky has been a percussionist for almost fifteen years and has professionally performed on drums and percussion for almost nine years. Steve teaches private instruction for beginners and advanced percussionists and has performed for audiences all over the country in a variety of different musical groups ranging from jazz, funk and metal to many solo drum performances as well. One of the many groups he has performed in called No Use For Humans has had very positive reviews from many international music publications such as Progression, READ, and High Times magazines among many others. No Use For Humans have performed throughout the tri-state area and have opened for Skeleton Key, Captured By Robots, and The Legendary Pink Dots. In addition,
Steve studies with Chris Pennie of the Dillenger Escape Plan and has recently performed at The Stone in New York City with Cyro Baptista and Billy Martin’s Student Bodies, which was a showcase of the extensive exotic percussion workshops Cyro and Billy have been serving the drumming community in New Jersey. –Adeo (Universal Rebel) 2006
Steve Honoshowsky - Drums
Steve Honoshowsky, a New Jersey native, crazed musical genius, and percussion pioneer, has never stuck to the confines of "traditional percussion/composition". All this shows in his most recent group, No Use For Humans, a group that consists of three people, but unless you are watching them live, you'd think you were listening to a nine-piece band. From a very early age, Steve has been a forward thinker, while most of us were rocking out to Poison, Steve would be in his room, first thing in the morning, practicing

his rudiments while listening to a huge variety of music, old and new thatgenerally doesn't seem to interest younger kids. Steve has pulled influence from everything from: jazz legends like Miles Davis, metal bands like Slayer, funk like Chaka Kahn, R&B, pop, and progressive like King Crimson. With such profound influences, his open mindedness, all the years of practice on his little dinky drum pad, and all the experience playing in various groups of various styles Steve has become one of the most versatile, precise, and creative drummers around. -Steve Dans (Daylow, Death Mask)

At first glance, No Use For Humans come across like space travelers exploring Earthling music in the wake of a nuclear holocaust. Like a triad of mad scientists manufacturing sound in a burnt out warehouse in the bad part of town. Like a waking nightmare of disorientation and despair from which there is no escape.

Upon closer examination you find, in addition to all those elements, deeply soulful, even beautiful melodies - perhaps made more so by the Verfremdungseffekt - alienation or disassociation effect (for whatever reason this band seems to lend itself to obscure German theatrical terms) - of the overall style. There is no way to satisfactorily pigeonhole this music. Compositions will begin with fits of high energy, synthesized drumming, then dissipate and dissolve into a mellow and melodious groove then snap into something else

Samples are weaved in and out of songs seamlessly, vocals are used sparingly but effectively, rhythms jump, breakdown and build back to something new. They can take you to a lounge act on the moon, the bowels of hell and an acid-jazz concert in the same song. It is musical experimentation the mainstream frowns upon and its power is in keeping listeners on their toes.

In their words, "Through years of researching the possibilities of sound all over the wastelands of planet earth, three West Nile survivors developed their own brand of something that might be called music. Although this music is difficult to categorize, there are recognizable elements of all forms of music

"No Use For Humans is a movie for your ears. Progressive math rock rhythms, haunting melodies, multi-ethnic, multi-genre beauty, unbearable sorrow, and sonic annihilation." The result is a sound as original and interesting, as it is bizarre and disorienting.

It is a disservice to a distinctly unique band like NUFH to think of them in terms of other artists. Such bland, generalized comparisons do not do them justice. However, if you must, imagine Les Claypool, Trent Reznor and Fiona Apple dropping acid and taking a U-haul truck full of instruments you've never heard of to Frank Zappa's house to record an album.

The band is: Steve Honoshowsky, Sean Wegeler and Alicia Testa. Instruments are not listed for want of space.
